    Hi guys.

My father in law turns 60 in 2020, and the idea of buying him a nice dressy Omega from 1960 just struck me.

I bought my father a decent cal.283 (I don't remember the ref.nr.) from 1956 when he turned 60 in 2016, and it was a great success.

So.. Dear community. What are my options here?

First off, I turn 60 this year and would like a 1958 SS Seamaster with dart markers. When you deliver that, I will help you with your father in law's. Deal? Seriously, Seamaster, Constellation, Speedmaster? What's your budget?

Let's see the cal 283; since presumably you want to buy something substantially different.

Constellation 14381 (non date) or 14393 (date) would be my suggestion. They come in many different dial configurations and available in most metals i.e. stainless steel, solid gold, gold cap etc. For a nice one they start off about £600 upwards.

Deal! Budget 950 USD, so many of those models are out of range I guess.

This is the only pic I have of it. My father lives in a different part of the country. (No it doesn't have to be substantially different.)

Ok. I have always liked Connies. Where's the best place to search for one? Post a WTB here on OF maybe?

An automatic-winder and/or a black dial would give him some variety. Obviously an automatic would be a lot easier to find. A Constellation will obviously cost significantly more than a Seamaster and/or Geneve in equivalent condition.
