Dear All, I recently fell in live with the speedy after two of my friends got speedy reduced. My wrist is bigger so I need a 42mm and I said to myself why not a 1988 (my birth year). I did some research and read some posts here but I can't seem to understand everything yet. Here are my questions: -1988 is ref 145.0022 correct? (Not 145.022) - are there different bracelet variations? Whats the original bracelet from 1988? (Im in love with 1125 bracelets without inter-links) For those who know the subject, please feel free to give any additional infos, Im looking forward to understanding more about this watch and purchase one before Im turning 30 next year. Ok got it. So I think I just understood something else. If I want a 1988 watch I can either find a 145.022 with 1447 bracelet OR a 145.0022 with 1171 bracelet am I correct?
145.022 and 145.0022 are the same thing. Some argue 145.0022 is the name they changed on the case and it's a part number. Some say it's the whole watch changed code. 1171 is correct for a 1988 and so is a 1447
Okok thanks a lot. Meaning in 1988 both of the versions were on sale? And still, in 1988 I could also find 145.022 with 1479 bracelet (which is the one with the interlinks similar to the modern ones) Thanks for the help
145.022 = 145.0022 The watch should have 145.022 inside the case back. IT will be easier to source a 1171.
Because the 1171/1 laster until 93/94 ? Whereas the 1447 stopped in 88? And back then what would define what a buyer was getting do yous huys know? Like why some were getting 1447 and other 1171...they'43 almost identical right? Thanks
No 145.022 and 145.0022 are the exact same watch. All watches post @1981 had 145.0022 on the inside of the caseback. I argue it's the part number of the case as the Omega referred to the watch as the 145.022 until 88 when they changed internal numbering/names and called it the 3590.50. I think the watches sold today still have 145.0022 on the inside.
