I came across an old thread where it was mentioned that the 808 end links that came with the 1450 Speedmaster bracelet can be retro fitted to an 1171 as an alternative to the rattly 633 links.

In that thread it looked like the 1171/808 was fitted to a modern speedy and a quick google search suggested the 808's may not fit older watches.

So, has anyone successfully fitted an 1171 with 808's to an older watch? Say a '69?

Straight lug is 19mm and late is 20mm.

    Cheers

When did the Speedy transition from straight lugs?

It seems like that the hole in the lugs is positioned differently when comparing modern Speedies to vintage ones.
A friend of mine had a 69 Speedy and he wanted a 1479 with 812 Endlinks to be mounted (the 1479 is also from the 80ties like the 1450)
But when i tried it, the springloaded pin didn´t fit into the lug hole.
Reason was that the "tounge" on the sides of the endlinks is to thick, you have to grind down the height a bit to allign the lughole with the tube in the
    endlink.

I think this works the same way with the 808/1171 combination

Does anyone happen to know the part no for the 808 end links?

The only no I can find is OME-026ST800 but this part is £3.52 from Cousins. Surely that can't be right?

Just for archive purposes, the Cousins part number is not a pair, it's just one. You need 2 x 026ST808 @ £55.

Don't wait too long into the future - that end link is discontinued so once remaining stocks are gone, you will be out of luck.
