Was scouring interwebz and found one Speedy 145.022-68 Transitional model that looks to have stock DN90 bezel. Reading on Speedy101, it states that bezel should be DO90, but it is possible that DN90 is original as well. This specific one looks old, it is a ghost bezel (I think that is the term at least) so I can see it being original, but wanted to check and see if there is any new info on this If it is original, does the "rule" of price listed on speedy101 still stand? It states that DN90 price is about $1K-$2K less than if watch has DO90 bezel.
A 145.022-68 should have a DO90 bezel. The DN90 bezel doesn't make an appearance until around the 30.5m serial numbers of the 145.022-69. It is not original to the watch and as such it should be priced much lower than the chart you referenced.
Not original. If you're condidering it, the price for a matching DoN bezel should be deducted from the appropriate price.
Unless I could get a steal of a price for it, I wasnt really considering it to begin with. I was curious to find out about the bezel and just get more knowledge if nothing else. Seller is asking for a bit more than $5K, which I would not pay for a watch that doesnt have all original parts for sure (unless part in question is really easy and cheap to find and replace)
A 69 straight writing just got posted In the for sale forum that is a much better deal. No AML but looks great.
Most 145.022-68 have a flat chrono hand. Mine, pictured above, has a tear drop which I believe is original.
@gemini4 is correct - most have flat chronos (like mine, below bottom right). The photo shows the general progression ('65, '66 CB, '67, '68 transitional). Very few have tear drops but some do.
