I have been looking at buying a vintage Constellation recently and love the contrast of a black face on a gold or capped case, from a bit of research I understand these are pretty hard to come by so have started to wonder if I should consider a redial? If I was to find a decent example how much would one be worth? i.e. how much does the redial really effect price?

Here is an example, I'm fairly sure this is a redial but how good is it? and how much would it be worth?

Thanks in advance for any help you may be able to offer, also if anyone has any suggestions on where I might find a nice original?

Don't get a redial - at least for me it kills the price.

I totally understand where you are coming from, I just can't seem to find a reasonably priced original. What do you think of the one above in terms of the redial work?

Sorry. For most of us here, redial is a dirty word.

It is either factory-original, aged OK, or nothing at all. Be patient and keep on praying and surely something will appear, sooner or later.

    Thank-you.

Do you want a constellation? Black and gold vintage Seamasters are also available for a reasonable price

    I recently sold these two:

Both went for between $600 and $800

If I had seen the middle one I would have taken it for sure. Yes I am open to seamasters as well. I stupidly passed on a really nice constellation a couple of months ago so have been kicking myself and chasing after one since.

Ref budget, depends on the watch I guess but thinking around £800-£1000

You know who the current owner is for sure..;) This is going towards my speedy funds, or maybe my house "repair" funds...Who knows? I am currently keeping one beautiful waffle connie, and liquidating the rest..

P.s Hoi, FYI I just couldn't do pictures like that... Who can? :p
