Congrats. I have a ‘76. Super comfortable watch to wear. I’ve seen a few for sale on this forum but not much detailed discussion. https://www.thewatchsite.com/ Is the go-to for in depth Seiko nerdism.
Much discussion around all the repro parts that are around and how to pick them. It took me a while to buy one as the new dials are now very close to the original.
I’ve just had the original crystal on mine polished and the last thing I’d like to do for mine is get the pink lume on the second hand fixed. Trying to keep it as original as possible.

The place to hunt down 6105's is where the "Willard" originally was filmed...The Philippines. However that will require boots on the ground searching as anything posted online is either cobbled together or absurdly priced. There is still an abundance of them in the smaller islands. Forget Luzon (Manila) and Cebu.

    Thanks mate. Great links btw.
II was totally unaware of the prevalence of doctored pieces when I got this one but it seems fine to my eyes.
I was not really looking, always fancied one, traded my way into another Seiko first (thanks Fred!) then saw this beauty in sc.
Long story short, the seller and I managed to put a deal together.
He paid absolutely top money for it to ensure it was right so it didn’t come cheap to me either.
I’m already looking at a bracelet mod but more of that later.

It’s actually more of a “made in Philippines” type of bracelet.

Oh you mean one of those hand hammered Olongapo thingies? Some think they are cool but after living in them islands for 15 years I'm sick of looking at them! Loads of originals up in Angeles City and there are a few shoemaker types online still making them.

I’ve got mine on an Erika’s MN strap and in my opinion it’s the most comfortable strap for the size and shape of the 6105-8110

A nice photo of me wearing my watch. To prove it’s me, look it’s the same watch.

Some good condition ones in this thread. Most I’ve seen for sale to reference against mine are pretty poor, looks like Seiko’s are the original “tool watch” and are used as such.
Anyone know why even the better ones seem to have lost their red dot on the second sweep?
    Just wear n tear?

    Could one of you chaps run through how to;
    Unlock crown
    wind up
    Relock crown?

Mine has the original lock crown but I struggle to do the above when setting time/date.
I’m kinda worried I’m doing something wrong and will wreck a perfectly good crown or thread.
