60th Anniversary Trilogy Leather Strap Availability

I was wondering if any of you good folks know whether those beautiful retro straps Omega supplied with the 60th anniversary watches are available in other lug width sizes aside from the 19mm for the trilogy pieces? I really want one for my Speedy Pro. While I know these can be had from other strap makers out there, I’m a sucker for branding so there it is.

Has anyone asked at an OB about this?

If not, how would the 19mm look on a regular Speedy? Would the gap be too big?

    Pic for integrity’s sake

The gap would kill it for me man. Not sure it's worth it if you're on 20mm lugs.

You can fit a 19mm for 20mm no problem, but there's a gap enough for me to wiggle out the spring bar with my fingernails, and that's not good.

That’s helpful, thank you. Do you know if Omega is doing other sizes? I’ve also considered just ordering the tang buckle and getting the leather from Hodinkee or some such place.

Perhaps if you REALLY must stick with OEM you might want to look into the speedy tuesday 1 strap because that's 20mm and similar style. It will come with the vintage style buckle as well.

Why Hodinkee though..? There are so many other strapmakers that do more or less the same thing or better at a nicer price..

Oh I just mentioned Hodinkee because they’re ubiquitous. I’m happy to have recommendations come my way :)

    Thanks!

As an alternative idea: I just emailed Jean Rousseau to see if they’d make this one for me at 20mm (correct me if I’m wrong but it only came in 21 for DSTM?):

Well, I'm sure they would, but it might cost a pretty penny because they don't come out at 20. Omega might make similar suede style 20mm deployant straps but definitely not with the rubber stitching in the holes.

I wonder how much the ceramic deployant clasp is from Omega? $600?

Yes, something like that price. But it won't be good with a SS model.

You’re probably right. That strap would be great with the regular SS clasp too.

Do we know if JR made the retro straps for the trilogy set?

I have straps from both Bulang & Sons and Jean Rousseau and both are really high quality!

What size is the vintage style tang buckle Omega makes for the Speedy Tuesday 1 and the leather straps that come with the 60th anniversary pieces? 16mm?

the quality of the OEM strap that comes with the trilogy speedy is pretty poor

I posted a comparison picture here before: https://omegaforums.net/threads/about-omega-buckles.37347/page-12#post-1035865

I looked up photos online of the buckle sizes.
The buckle from the NATO, polished finish
    [IMG]
Buckle from ST1 is brushed instead so I guess that's why it has a different part number
    [IMG]
And finally the 60th speedy has a different buckle part number again, as per my previous post.

So given this information since the ST1 strap taper is 20/18 I'd say the buckle is 18mm, and 60th is 16mm.

Is it possible to get the buckle alone as well? It would be great to use the buckle and pair it on a strap with my 3594.50 broad arrow reissue.

Try Colareb. I’ve bought two straps from them and have been very happy so far. Fair prices too.

Figured I’d follow up: I ordered the polished tang buckle from the 60th anniversary models, and I’ll be pairing it with a honey colored shell cordovan strap from Ledford. Will post pics as soon as I’ve got it all!
