I just left the Tyson's Corner, Virginia Speedmaster Event -- it was a very nice evening, complete with amazing food and drinks, hosted by the OB Manager, Alexandra, and her team. I met some wonderful Omega fans and came away with a Speedmaster poster. All good!
I attended the one in New Jersey (Short Hills Mall), my first. It was a very impressive event and highly educational. One of the reps, Victor, was fascinating and had a wealth of Omega knowledge. Speedmasters, Seamasters, and anything else by Omega. I was particularly surprised by the turnout at such a small boutique. We had 30-40 attendees. Of course I have never been to one of these before, but for some reason I was expecting about half that number. And those hors d'oeuvres! One of them was citrus crab meat in hollowed-out watermelon balls, a strange pairing. But absolutely delicious!
So jealous. That's the closest boutique to me, I would have made the trip but currently in Sacramento on travel. I did manage to stop into the OB here and was treated very well.
There were some very special edition Speedys worn at the northern NJ event. No Snoopy, but some great stuff none the less. Folks busted out their vintage kit for the night.
It's a great piece and looked great on you. I might have to look into one in the future. I'm still thinking about a blue moonphase.
@mmalek1 Interesting, do you like the moon disk on that one? While he astronaut footprint is a great idea it just looks like (cheaply) printed metal to me. Like the dial itself but can't get over the disk myself...
I have to take a closer look when I get the chance. I love the blue dial from pictures at least. I'm not totally sold yet, but time will tell.
The green one is also good looking! Another thing I don't like are they are a different style with gear style interlinking between cap and tube. Looking straight at the watch this is verv visible (especially on the gold ones) and looks somewhat unfinished to me. Don't want to spoil it for you though .
I attended the Tyson's OB event as well! Great time, although next time I'll have to leave my GF at home as she wasn't nearly as 'enthusiastic' about being there as I was so I wasn't able to stay as long as I would have liked. I got to see a few rare Omega's including a very cool custom Speedy Mitsukoshi. In addition to cocktails and appetizers, guests received the 60th Anniversary poster and an Omega note pad. Fun night! - Scott
Even though I was highly distracted with a room full of watch enthusiasm, I did remember to remove the "non" edible clothes pin .
I am looking forward to hanging up the poster once our painting is complete. I finally get to dedicate a room for watch related things.
Bought my first Speedy on Friday at the King of Prussia boutique; they had leftover posters and notepads from their 60th anniversary event and gave me one of each. Between that and the Moonwatch Pro box (and the watch), came home with lots of Speedy swag!
I was at the tysons one, I was the one wearing the Mitsukoshi mod, and I spoke to a bunch of people, my name is Alex, and Saturday at the tech event, I was able to snag a poster (frame is from Michaels and it was $30)
