Another dip into the drawer clearing and I bring forth a stainless Hamilton Dateline from the late 60’s with textured black dial.

What makes this one interesting is the faceted crystal which Hamilton referred to as “diamond edge”. They did this on a few of their lines throughout the 60’s.

Catalog pic shows the gold version which was -4, this is the stainless which is -3

The raised indices are also diamond hatched and play the light as well, giving this watch a particular amount of shimmer in sunlight. F02D1DBE-36D7-40D2-B1E9-3E4FDFE3A379.jpeg
Dial is textured with a pebble grain almost like the texture of leather.
When viewing it strait on, the indices and faceted crystal almost subside and it looks like a “normal” watch, but a flick of the wrist and it sparkles subtly.

Case measures 34x38x10.5 with 17.65mm lugs, so it’s a great size for the style and can take 18mm straps as long as they aren’t too firm.

Case edges and lug bevels are nice and sharp. Of course typical micro scratches, small dings and a few scratches on the crystal- it’s been used but never abused. Tritium lume on hands and at the ends of the indices is bright yellow.

It will come on an older Hurst strap- which has the “H” on the buckle (Hurst- not Hamilton) but still cool and period looking.

Watch winds, sets and runs beautifully keeping good time. Date flips over as it should and is a 9/12 semi-quick set. I have not had it serviced during my time with it, so service is recommended for long term health.

Price is $225 shipped within conus- out of the US we can discuss options. Payment via PayPal F&F or add 4% for regular PayPal and I can send a request. No returns unless grossly misrepresented.
I buy far more than I sell but I have sold a few here and traded many, so have some feedback in the members section and I can provide references.

Thanks OF for the space, any questions feel free to ask

I appreciate you keeping these watches in the OF family. Your love for the hobby is infectious. Selling these watches at a more than reasonable price is yet another way to share the love. Keep it up!

I love the dial texture BTW.

So many fun watches, so little space.

And I have often said (as have many) that the difference between a collector and a hoarder is curation- and I refuse to be a hoarder....again.
