    Hi, came across this one:

Movement is in a 168.005 case and has 34 mil serial number from 1973

According to Ranfft archiv last production year was 1970

Please let me know your thoughts...

Watch has this inner case back, is it legit??

according to Desmond's blog 564s were still being put in C-cases from 71
34m could be as early as 72
we've had late 564s posted before but IIRC there was a suggestion that the movement might have come from a C-case as it was likely too late for other case styles
you would have to trawl through the old posts to find the discussion.
    hope that helps

    Thank you for answer

If I look into Desmonds list, I see the last 168.005 - 564 fit for the year 1962

So I think it is very unlikely that this combination of 168.005, 564 and 34 mil is original

the tables are a bit confusing - that was the first production year. - not the last.
early dog-leg dates are much more likely to have a 561

According to the Omega Museum table, the hole 27.9 family, which the 565 belongs to - actually it is the last caliber of this family - were produced until 1969.

They are found in watches from the early seventies, for sure...

Serial number seems a bit high for the Ref. 168.005. Highest one that I’ve ever seen factory papers or an Extract was around 27M. I know that old stock was sold into the 1970’s.

However, the cal 564 continued to be used for other Constellation case references up until 1972 or so. The serial numbers wouldn’t get up to 34M by that time.

What I think is that the movement (or at least the bridge with caliber and serial number) was transplanted from a mid-1970’s Seamaster Chronometer model. Probably a Ref. 168.022 or similar.

    Hope this helps,

I guess the movements were cased a few years after the production. We know it is often the case. It is also possible that the Museum document is not 100% accurate...

So it could be that this movement as it is now has been originally used in the assembly of the watch above we are talking about?

No - I think consensus is it is unlikely and probably from another Omega chronometer watch.
Either a later Connie or Seamaster.
