My very first Longines arrived today, traded for a modern watch, complete with archive info obtained from previous owner

    That's terrific!

Question for the Longeniuses among us: I am used to taking that 5 digit number off the case back as the reference number, but the Longines paperwork refers to this as a ref 5193. Which is correct? And if 5193, is that expected to be marked anywhere on the watch?
