I hope he said each of them out loud to himself as he typed... "17) What a beautifull collection! Like porn….. but better. "
Ha, very timely - earlier today I was trawling through the forum to find his old threads to remind myself what a Grade A turd that guy was/is... For anyone wanting to despair at the state of mankind/watch dealers, the horror show starts at this page on the Vintage Omega subforum. Posts from "ev3rclear" and that Uncle Scrooge avatar are the ones to look for.
This one was also priceless : https://omegaforums.net/threads/so-it-works-always-worth-to-make-some-due-diligence.58232/
He’s firmly a member of our 3 worst ever amateur watch dealers, literally pays for $50 part repairs on watches just to get them to tick long enough for the PayPal or credit card return period to expire.
But he is a not for profit organisation i am not earning direct income through my watch dealing company as all revenue is reinvested in the acquisition of new watches and diversification of the portfolio itsself.
Even that statement was full of unintended comedy ... “Of course, i have not listed the negative ones, but let me ensure you that they were lonly a friction” Friction, ha! Yeah I bet.....
Who would have known a refurbished dial increases the value of a watch less than €2500 FAQ are even funnier What are your thoughts on refurbished dials and refinished watch parts? The dial conditions of our watches are stated in the condition report for each listing. Our refurbished dials have been restored with good care using state-of-the-art reprinting and refurbishment techniques. In our opinion, a dial refurbishment usually increases the value of watches worth less than 2500 Euro, as the refurbishment costs invested (up to 500 Euros per dial) raise the overall value of the watch. For watches above 2500 Euro, the dial is usually seen as a piece of art beside all other watch parts and the dial condition is important, as the collectors’ market (not so much the mass market) pays a premium for collector-grade dials “untouched by human hands”. The mass market, in our opinion, prefers refurbished and completely patina-free dials, as they are more visually appealing and are more suitable for daily wear. Well refurbished dials are often also easier to resell than dials covered with (most often) an ugly patina, especially on the mass market. Patinas form from exposure to sunlight and changes in temperature and humidity over the lifetime of a watch. A well executed refurbished dial can save a watch from otherwise being butchered or discarded
