I was just sent this link to a petition on the UK government website, that aims to have second hand imported goods VAT reduced to 5% in order to match the rate set on art and collectables.
Anyone who is based in the UK can join the petition I believe, and will make purchasing from around the world a much more viable option for us, especially now that we are out of the EU.

I would suggest telling your friends and family to sign too, especially those who are in the watch community.
