One of the few exemple of this reference with a black dial http://www.christies.com/lotfinder/...tm_content=rare-watches&utm_campaign=barnebys The watch will be auctioned at Christie's the 13th November
The catalog essay claims this watch is unique in this configuration, but there's at least one other out there. https://instagram.com/p/mfnP_WB5-f/
Oh, you're thinking of pre-2010 "unique", not post-2010 "unique". Completely different meaning, I've learned.
Here’s same one, auctioned a few years back @Sotheby’s. http://www.sothebys.com/it/auctions/ecatalogue/2013/important-watches-ge1304/lot.238.html
Or "The only one I've ever seen. Actually, I've seen a few. A hundred or so. But I'm trying to sell this one to a millennial"
Look like 2 individual watches. Different hands and lume on dials. Unless the IG photo was taken before the Sothebys auction...
Unless one has misplaced one’s white stick……the 6 hour numeral is also a bit of a giveaway Personally…I would not be bidding on this dial……but I am sure the experts at Christie’s have checked it out thoroughly……
When you requested the hi def images …Were you able to ask Christie’s to explain the Dial ?........ Am also interested to know how they obtained a ‘UG Extract from the Archives’ from a moribund Company……esp when there is no mention of an Extract, at the previous auction in 2013
The extract of archive means nothing, you can email them and give them the watch description and they will issue an extract based on your description (as long as you pay the fee)..... it is a not so clean little secret that the public should be aware of....
