Hey everyone, how do you view 61 vs 45? I don't have any 61s yet, so I haven't seen it in person.

So far I prefer 45 for the slimmer profile and because I prefer manual. Also 61 doesn't have a no-date dial. And I can use 45KS junk watches for parts which are cheaper than junk 61GS.

Also how do you view 4522-X vs 4520-XX. Is the date window a big deal?

It's a matter of personal taste and preference. I have a mix of no date, date and day-date GS. I like the blue Saturday and red Sunday on the day-date 61GS to add a bit of colour to the dial two days a week. I also like the kanji day option on the 56GS. The 4520 might be the perfect middle of the road GS though. The classic clean look of the 44GS with a hi beat movement, what more could you want? Especially if you prefer manual.

44GS... 👍 I used to care a lot about the BPH, but I would make an exception if this specimen came by.

Btw, I don't get the appeal of just date, if you are going to kill the symmetry.. get a day too. Do you ever prefer date over day+date?

For some reason most modern GS have just date. I don't know why. I can barely see dateless GS and none with day+date.
