The Omega Planet Ocean Liquid Metal in titanium, previously only offered in 45.5mm XL size has just been released in four new versions and two sizes: 42mm On Blue Strap Ref 232.92.42.21.03.001: 42mm On Titanium Bracelet Ref 232.90.42.21.03.001: 37.5mm On Blue Strap Ref 232.92.38.20.03.001: 37.5mm On Titanium Bracelet Ref 232.90.38.20.03.001:
Have you had a chance to check out one of them in the metal? Its actually a fair bit different to how it looks in Omega's photos, the titanium is far more white than any other titanium I've seen, it looks like steel rather than they greyish tone of TI. The dial is made from the same ceramic material as the bezel, and while the black ceramic is a matte like finish, the blue isn't necessarily shiny or reflective, but it has this glass like quality, almost like a deep thick blue porcelain. Its my personal favorite of Omega's entire lineup right now, and in 42mm its just perfect.
No, not checked in person, but but the images I've seen always had a refined look about them. I guess I will have to run over to the AD next week for a peek, though after the FOIS, no new for awhile.
Does anyone have a thickness measurement for a 37.5 (either this new one, or the existing one e.g. 232.33.38.20.01.001)? I have a 2209.50 which - even on rubber - is a bit large for me, and I was thinking that this new "mid-size" (I can't bring myself to buy a "ladies" watch!) might work for me, but I'm hoping that it doesn't have the same thickness as the 42mm. And groveling the internet, I can't find a thickness measurement for ANY 37.5 PO.
The best would be to go to a boutique or store and try on the current 37.5mm white PO offering they have. Should be the same. I am trying to pre-order one of the 42mm right now
