Not being a big fan of quartz watches, I find this 40 year old LCD Constellation super amazing.

A piece of electronics still fully functional after all that time just shows what efforts Omega put into quality. Especially as this is a relatively early quartz movement, and an early LCD display, both from times where these technologies had not fully matured.

There are a surprising number of 80s LCDs out in the world. The electronics are a lot more robust than you think.

The Electroquartz 8192Hz 1300 models are going to be...52 years old and there are still many running fine, I've got a couple myself ;-)

The very first LCD I ever saw was in an early Gruen. The year was 1969. An awful bulky looking thing that was. And the price then was $1,100.00! In those days, the belief was that the LCD display had a life expectancy of 10 years.
