And a day under 4 weeks later it’s back! Can’t believe I’ve missed it so much. No info on what it was, just paperwork saying a full service performed under warranty. Good service with Covid etc. Just pleased I can wear it again.

That's a great looking watch, wish I had jumped on it when it was available.

Thanks. It’s a beauty for sure. Everyone has different tastes however. I personally don’t like the snoopy but love this. Go figure.

it also looks good on a strap

As a sometimes involuntary beta tester, I would hope the my recently purchased (3/30/21) and recently imported 3861 (AD indicated that the shipment just arrived) would have been lubricated to the upgraded standard as described in the TSB ? I guess there would be no way of checking? Your information and efforts for all of us Omega owners are greatly appreciated.

Of course we are all sorry to hear you have problems with a new watch. It will get taken care of under warranty. With a new movement we sometimes see there are a few issues that need to be sorted out. We will probably hear of more watches with issues before the cause is identified.

I received the same Apollo 11 50th anniversary watch as a present off my wife 3 days ago. I have exactly the same problem as you described with the chronograph second hand stopping at 58 seconds and the power reserve being only a few hours. It then deteriorated so that the chronograph second hand moves slightly move then stops. Glad I found this thread and found exactly the same strange symptoms. I’m back at the Omega Boutique as soon as they open and will link this thread to the lady who my wife dealt with.

Sorry to hear you have this issue. As much as it is a pain, the good news is it’s fixable. I hope you get your watch back quickly and enjoy it. Mine has been good as gold since the work was done.

I was meant to pick up the watch as a surprise but the lockdown meant that couldn’t happen. Still a great surprise though. A little disappointed in the problem but at least it’s fixable. Was going in to the Omega Boutique when it opened anyway to have the strap sized but will have to hand it back for a warranty service.

I think mine took in the region of 4/5 weeks - not too long. It’s a great watch, and you’ll love it when it’s back.

Wouldn't these be still under warranty?

I had the same problem, the watch was exchanged for a new one and then I had the same problem with that one too. I use the chrono daily and I believe this 'highlights' the issue. I ended up getting a full refund and purchasing a BB58 Black. I did really like the Speedmaster and I perhaps will buy it again in a couple of years once the movement issues are ironed out. Maybe I was really unfortunate, who knows but I am very pleased with the way it was handled by the AD. for now the 1861 will be my chrono of choice.

Just a quick question - what do you use the chrono daily for. Just curious as I hardly have a use for it.

I used mine a lot also before mine went. I use the chrono hand as a date pointer - so adjust it to the right date each day.

I use the chrono for timing my morning run and sometimes for work where I had to capture time accountability on tasks. I know this can all be done with a phone etc... but I felt it was a lot easier with my watch.

For what its worth, the SA suspects that there are a lot more watches out there with this issue however believes that a very lower percentage of owners just don't use the chorno that often for it to be an issue.
