Took a gamble on this... And this arrived... Here are some pics in brighter light... It looks like it is pretty original, but I am a little confused by holes in one set of lugs and not in the other. Haven't been able to pop the back off, but I am guessing a 12.68. Case is 37mm and wears great. The super domed mineral glass is insane, and I hope I can get it polished. Looking forward to getting it cleaned up.
Cracking purchase ! Matt Well spotted - Congratulations - That crystal will be astonishing when polished
Lovely! A gentle brushing of the dial, and cleaning of the hands will, along with the crystal polish, change the the look of the watch significantly.
The initial picture is a long way from what arrived, the difference has definitely swung in favour to you. Lovely looking original watch. I'd leave the drilled/non-drilled lugs it's a nice foible for the time being and as @Tony C. says above, a gentle clean up and crystal polish will transform the watch. Great catch!
I have seen that before, and wouldn't worry about it. You could have the other lugs drilled, if you prefer.
Nice! I had my eye on that one but that weird hole kept me from bidding. Good to know it's an import mark! I also thought the "s" of the logo looked a bit wonky. Curious to hear what others think.
A bit surprised to find not a single one word of appreciation, public or private, for the time spent discussing this watch privately after its purchase or for having posted an example of a mineral glass for the benefit of all in a previous thread. Not sure this encourages knowledge sharing. Best regards S
