    Looks like a repaint with the omega name and symbol transplanted from a constellation dial. To my knowledge this metal symbol/name combo was not used on any omega in the early 1940s and was initially used in constellations in the mid 1950s.

    you are right about your observation regarding the symbol and script - however I think the dial is original versus re-dial - IMO it was just transplanted from a later/younger watch to this old specimen

    Good points. I didn't think about the metal symbol. I thought the 30T2 movements were somewhat unique in terms of fit? I've read that there are different shaped movements so to speak and even transplanting among watches of the same era is difficult. Not that a skilled watch maker couldn't have done it..

    Certainly possible Erich. Style of the dial though strikes me as not appropriate for the age of the watch/movement so the entire dial even if the remaining printing is original could have come from a later watch altogether.
