    Hi There,

I have been wearing my Grandfathers Bulova Accutron Dress Railroad watch for the last few year and I really love it. This watch has a lot of sentimental value and I'm looking to purchase a Vintage Omega as a daily wearer and will keep the Accutron at home and wear it on special occasions.

The Bulova Accutron is a 34mm watch and is slightly too small for my wrist. I'm wondering if anyone is able to give me any information on 36mm or 38mm Vintage watches produced by Omega?

The 166.064 looks like a really nice watch and the 168.004 also looks fantastic - am I correct in thinking these are both 36mm watches? Also any information on other large Omega Vintage watches is much appreciated.

    Cheers,

    Henry

I'd suggest a ref. 168.032 (or the 168.023, the chronometer version). These wear very nicely and a bit larger.

    Check out the 168.010 Connie
Similar to the 168.004 but with 19mm spacing between lugs so wears bigger ( I think the .004 has the classic 18mm spacing)

The earlier 2792/2892 from the fifties are both 36mm and wear well. Come up for sale a bit more often than large Constellations or Seamaster Sparkles in my experience, but will also look more "vintage", if you do not mind that.

I have a 166.064 and it is a big watch. I believe it is 38mm and I know it needs a 22 mm strap. An undervalued watch.

Thanks all for the replies! I do really like the 168.010 Constellation. Is this a 36mm? Or slightly smaller at 35mm ? Cheers!

    Hi guys,

Just wondering if anyone has one of the bigger constellation pie pans 168.001 or a 14396 that they are looking to sell?

The 168.001 is 37mm but there's no pie-pan dial for it. While the 168.004/010 are both 34mm, they have a thin bezel and wear larger than the size indicates and do have pie-pan dial options.

The Seamasters 166.032/168.023 and 165.028/168.022 all are 36mm, while the 166.064 and its 3 variants are 38mm.

Where have you seen the 14396?

There are some cracking Jumbo Omegas out there, the Connie hidden crown is a lovely watch, some of the oversized 30T2's and 26.5's are amazing watches but the 37MM (excluding crown) Jumbo versions of these are rocketing in value and will easily for great ones cost you Ed White money.

This is my oversize 30T2, it is 35mm ex crown but is still lovely and wearable

    Thanks for the info!

I made a bit of a typo there and I meant the 14395 - I think this comes in a 37mm pie pan variant?

I'm a big fan of the 2505 30t2 but just a bit worries about the water resistance as a daily wearer.

Do you have the reference number of the hidden crown Constellations? Will check them out.

    Cheers!

    Henry

Looks like you've been well and truly bitten by the bug! ;)

    More examples here.

And +1 for Hijak's Sparkle dial. That looks great on either strap or bracelet.

The 168.004 is another nice one, and wears just a tad larger than it's 36mm diameter would suggest. Looks good on either strap, or beads-of-rice (BOR) bracelet.

    Here's another 37.5mm one, ref 2272 I believe.

Hope this helps expand your range of options.

6.jpg 6.jpg 6.jpg For 36mm you could try ref. 2639/2640 hand wind with cal. 265/266/283 from early 50's.

There's no pie-pan dial for any of the jumbo Constellations. Hidden crown refers to the 168.004 or 168.010 mentioned above, the latter's crown is a bit longer and half hidden.

Ah yes, I remember the post where you found the rather rare 37mm "Big Daddy" 14395

Thanks for the info guys! I've been doing a lot of research the past couple of months but you can't beat first hand advice.

I'm sold on either the Seamaster Sparkle or the Constellation Hidden Crown - If anyone has one they are looking to sell please let me know.

I'll also post in the wanted to buy section :)
