So--I'm slowly trying to corral a Speedy--and narrowing down my choices. I like how the tritium dials from the 1045s from the 80s age--but also am wondering about 3590s as an option--or maybe another version I am overlooking? Any suggestions or advice? Many thanks mm
The correct answer is 4193.149 Here is the proof in python: a = 3590.50 b = 1045.022 aa = a*1000 bb = b*1000 cc = int(aa) | int(bb) c = float(cc)/1000.0 print c Edit : ooh wait. Speedies. right, well, most of the 3590/2 have tritium, which ages caramelly, like the 145.022's up to the early/mid 70's. Those from the mid 70's to mid 80's go minty green. Depends on what you like.
generally speaking, Speedys before 1997 will patina. 3590.50 went up to 1996, so you can expect most if not all 3590.50s to have lume that patinates. The most awesome orange index patina I have seen have been from late 80's early 90's Speedys
Correct me where I am wrong here: But is the only difference of a post 78 145.022 and a 3590 the deviations in the dial? I believe the bezel is the same (bracelets will obviously differ).
Thanks for the laughs, guys--and the facts too. I had thought the 80s 1045s have copper plated movements, and the 3590s were gold? I need to look into this side of the changeovers a little more carefully--not sure if it really matters though?
those with the display back are treated differently (i.e. 3592.50, 3590.50 not). I strongly suggest you google this website. a lot of good info here... https://www.fratellowatches.com/category/speedy-tuesday/
Are you one and done? I agree with what others have said as far as mint and caramel (maybe cappuccino). I have no preference, they all look good to me. Below range from late 60s to late 90s, all tritium.
Oh, thanks--this is great--and probably the beginning of the end of me.... Thanks Taddy--scarily nice lineup there!
