·Hi all,
I have been looking for a correct donor set of hands for my 1952 Seamaster 2520 for a few years
my watch: (period correct but non luminous and slightly too long dauphine hands, NOS sweeping second hand, that turned out to be 1mm too short...)
and an untouched example of the same reference (picture from the web)
I have just bought this interesting looking 2597-2 which has the right minute and hour hands and what I thought (from seller pictures) was an oxidized blue steel second hand. The two dials have matching furniture so it looked liked a very close match to my Seamaster.
However having received the watch I found that the second hand was actually a slightly shiny brown shade, have you ever seen this before? Could it be a blue one that oxidized to this color? I have tried capturing the color, please forgive my poor photographic skills.
Thank you for your help.
