Apart from vintage Seamasters, UG watches have also recently come on my radar and, yeah, am debating on one actually, and it too is 35 mm. I was hoping if anyone out there could share a wrist shot of what a 35mm watch would like
on the wrist? I find that pictures taken with a little distance away from the wrist gives the watch a better sense of perspective. I have rather thin wrists, haven't measured it though. Btw, this is the watch I'm considering, and have contacted the seller about it...

Redial? The case is 18k gold, the watch is from 1945. The crown isn't a signed one but I doubt watches of the 1940s era had signed crowns (?). One more thing, should I insist on the original papers on watches this old? Please chime in guys...what should I look out for? How much do you think i should pay for a watch like this? There are these numbers engraved on the back, have no idea what those represent.

I have not enough knowledge about UG watches to advise you about this one but I can tell you that 35 mm fit perfectly on the wrist :)

    Ok - few things:

    1. It is a redial.
    2. The crown shouldn't be signed - but it looks too small IMO. Probably still a replacement.
    3. The numbers on the back traditionally are reference and serial numbers.
    4. It started its life as a UG Monodate, most likely.

I wouldn't pay over scrap value for it. Be careful...

Among other things, the print of the Universal Geneve wordmark is terrible.

I've relatively new at looking at this, but a dead giveaway is the font/text - someone correct me if I'm wrong.

If you browse some of the threads here, you'll see how it should look

Total and bad redial. Genève has what we call an "accent grave" in french : è. All other writings are wrong : é or else
