Hi guys,

Looking for some advice. having more movement issues with my 321. Currently it runs fine on a full wind but at around 9:15 every morning or night it stops completely until i wind it up a few times. but specifically around 9, this seems odd to me because its still almost fully wound when this occurs but the watch completely stops ticking. any thoughts?

thanks
Joel

That often points to an issue with hands interfering with each other.
Actually in your case at 9:15 (where the hands are fully opposite) it is probably more an issue of the respective gears interfering.

Did you check if small second hand is touching hour hand since at 9:00 or so the hour hand would be hovering around the seconds sub dial?

At 9:15, the hour hand will still be in the area of the seconds sub-dial, so I think your first guess is likely the place to start...

If the small seconds hand it tipped up slightly, it may be making contact with the underside of the hour hand - this should be easy to see actually.

Of course, I didn't think about the seconds sub dial 😬.
And that makes perfect sense as it is the seconds hand that is the easiest to stop (as minutes/hour have a ratio of 60/3600 compared to seconds).

i just checked it and whenever i move the hour hand over the sub seconds dial theres tension and it moves the seconds hand along with it.. just a matter of an adjustment?

The watch needs to be taken to a watchmaker who can look at the hands and decide what needs to be done. It could be that the seconds hand is bent up, not seated fully, or that the hour hand is bent down, or pressed too closely to the dial.
