About to buy a 321 omega, which (as the seller says) need service, the chrono hour and minutes hands are not reseting.

What is a good estimate on service prices for a 321 movement?

What could be the issue on this 321?

Its pretty standard on 321s that are past their service interval, cost can vary a lot depending on condition, do you have movement pics? If its in good shape probably 400-800, if it needs significant parts, the bill can be huge.

Service costs for a caliber 321 vary quite widely depending on your location and availability of a qualified watchmaker - one who can source parts if needed. The chrono problem could be something simple or not. No way to tell with certainty without a proper examination.

The bezel alone is worth close to that much already. Pictures are too small to say much else, but hands appear to be new replacements.

Be very careful, there are a LOT of scams involving these in that price range ESPECIALLY in South American nations like Peru, Argentina, Chile etc.

    Agree.

Why does anyone, with access to the internet, sell a $2500 - $3500 item for $1500?

Yes be careful as there's lots of scammers out there. There's still good deals out there though. Recently this 145.012 went for $1200:
