30t2 help please, how to solder wire or drill

Hi guys. I have a 30t2 which came with both fixed wire bars snapped. I have filed flat with the intention of soldering new wires or even drill for spring bars.

Does anyone have any advice on how to solder or drill. I'm assuming soldering bars would be easier and I would prefer to do this.

Anyone done this in the past?

Practice with scrap watches first. Such watches can be bought by the pound from charity shops.

Keep everything clean. Surgically clean if possible. And I mean clean.

Drilling should be done with a lathe if possible. Press and hand drills tend to wonder into the soft parts of the metal.

I just went for it, took my time and managed to carefully drill out the lugs. The watch cost me £30 and let's just say it has a nice personality.
