You know, wearing a watch under the cuff of a dres shirt is a much different perspective than with rolled or short sleeves. I can’t stand seeing my 31-33mm 50’s watches on my bare summer arms, but peeking from under a shirt cuff I barely notice the size. May want to wait until cooler months before making final judgment.

Make sure to keep it stored in nitric acid when not in use

I'm no stranger to small watches, but mate... It's 17mm wide.

Small.

SMALL.

S-M-ALL!

Perhaps get a second one and use them as cufflinks😉

You and your cufflinks 😁

In related events, I am still searching for a donor movement for this one! It's a movement which was normally used in women's watches - and not in burly tool watches like this one - so shouldn't cost a lot and I could well imagine that more than a few of them are knocking about at the bottom of watchmaker's drawers. If you have one, please consider moving it on 😀

Here is a scan of an other 1930s catalog (July 1936) where the reference 936 is also presented as a man's watch. And with its "arabic dial".

I think it looks fine for under cuff wear. Considering the number and variety of bangles and bracelets that men wear these days, I wouldn't find that to be too unusual.

I'm also a great fan of the bamboo bracelets, and the combination with this case is understatedly elegant.

Hmm...

I'll let you know if the 'Bamboo Bangle' trend takes off 😁

i have a near identical bulova tank watch that my grandmother gave my watch when they got married in 1941. it's a bad pic, but shows the same shape, though a BOR bracelet.

it's tiny, but i love wearing it for family functions.

Hi everyone!

I'm reviving this old thread for my first post here, as I found this reference in a local flea market. I love it, however mine has unfortunately lost its GF bracelet and there's now a leather strap attached on welded lugs. I realized this as I bought it, and it doesn't bother me THAT much.

However, the watch needs a service, and I am not quite sure what to do with it considering that.
I am torn between simply punting it because of the lugs, or having fully serviced and brought back to its former glory. If so, I would need to find a donor case with the bracelet, but except if someone here does have one to sell/trade, I think it won't be possible.
What do you think ? Would any of you have a donor ?

Onto the pics:

don´t throw it away - feel free to offer it to me. I am a great fan of rectangular watches 😉
