hi there, having some trouble with my watch, the thread failed on the crown so it wouldn't screw down although the watch worked fine. I purchased a new crown and fitted it but when I resembled the watch the date changes it winds but the hands will not move with the crown. It is as though the crown is either coming out past the position to move the hands or will not come out that far.
Any help greatly appreciated it was my late fathers and I can't afford to send it in.

 

Find an independent watchmaker! Otherwise each and every attempt to make it better on your own will make it worst.
