Thanks Hi, new to the forum and have no knowledge of watches, other than a liking for classic watches. I have inherited 3 Watches, one a Seamaster, 2 gold cased watches. I have taken them to a watch specialist certified by Omega and has advised they are nice watches and that the Seamaster has in his opinion the best of all classic omega movements. Price to service the 2 gold case watches is £350 each and 425 for the Seamaster which includes a new main spring. Was hoping for your expert opinion. I will be keeping one to wear, I like the Seamaster but in your core is this the best one to keep? Thanks in advance

I'd keep the Seamaster without a doubt (price seems right for service, IMO) and sell or trade the other two to fund the service

Why are you guys recommending these over priced service individuals? Any competent watchmaker could do the same service for a fraction of the price. Nothing complicated about these watch movements.

I just recommend Mr Freese as his pricing is better than the price quoted and he’s an Omega expert. I’m sure there’s someone cheaper.

A lot cheaper, you should not have to pay more than 250 to service the above moments, and even at 250 you would be on the high side.

I too think £425 is very expensive for a basic service (which generally includes a main spring. )
If you are going to sell the other two, don’t bother to get them serviced (especially not for £325 each) as you won’t recoup your outlay.

The two others are probably 9K, so don't sell them for a song.

Thanks all for the great advice, will think about the servicing sounds like better to sell the two as is and look for a better price on the servicing.

In addition would you have an indication of the age of the 3 watches and what models the 2 gold watches are? Thanks a lot.
