This one is brand-new in my home and I hope, you like it.

The dial is darkbrown and what makes me smile is the bezel. It´s greenish under indoor lighting conditions....

Very nice example you have, congrats! Quite a number of 2998-5s have DON bezels turn greenish/grayish like this one. Beautiful dial and lume plots. Looks like a solid mid case too. Only the chrono hand is a replacement I think.

I am not really off. Still like Rolex vintage very much, but I am a bit tired of them, after 10 years of intensive collecting...

I am not sure, because no omega specialist, but those pics in the Omega Speedmaster book - isn't the chrono hand the same ??

No it is not. The center disc is larger on the original vintage hand.

Do I understand td69´s post correct, so that (only) 2998-5 bezels became greenish ?

Does anybody have an idea, ca. how many percentage of those 2998-5 bezels became greenish ?

Would be interesting to know....

Wow.. wow. Beautiful, and as a big, big fan of rich patina..wow. I've said wow three times, enough already. Incredible bezel insert too.

Mine is a 2998-6. I have seen a few other green fades in the past few years.
