Be careful with your bezel. Is not fully attached to your case. Somebody could not fit it correctly. There is a big gap......great watch and a perfect start into vintage Speedmasters. Kind regards. Achim

I sent a watch into Simon last week but getting hold of him took 2-3 weeks initially, likely due to their move. It will be worth the wait though and I'd advise you to do the same.

That watch looks like it's been sat around for a good while. Waiting another few weeks for Simon to get back to you will be well worth it.

In a years time you'll forget the short amount of time you had to wait for Simon but you won't be able to get over the quick but unsympathetic service many others would carry out.

As mentioned above, Simon's just moved premises and we folks keep sending him lots of watches ... the guy's busy but he will come back to you. STS can also do justice to the watch if you want to get it serviced immediately.

The chrono hand looks correct to me. The white hand often looks particularly bright in photographs. The subdial hand is a replacement, though, as is the crown. Frankly, these sort of things don't really impact on the watch just the value. By that I mean that it's not detrimental to the credability and simply shows that the watch has lived a life and been serviced. The ghosting base 1000 bezel is nice to see.

All told, a nice entrance ... welcome to the Forum.

Thank you very much, after all the replies mentioning Simon I guess I just have to be patient. And I'll try to keep an eye out for those parts.

A stunner indeed, even if the hands were replaced.

:eek::eek: Coming in hot! I'm new to the forum as well, but wasn't able to provide such a stunning first post! Just relaying what others have said on the forum in the past, but STS in the UK is another option. They seem willing to work with you on keeping as many vintage components as humanly possible.
