Hey, I’ve been a browser of this forum for a while, but never really joined in. I’ve just bought my first Omega, a 2998-2, from a friend who’s family had it since new, and thought it would be a nice first post. This was previously lying in a drawer for many years, and as such was looking to get it serviced. Does anyone have any recommendations for service locations in London? As far as I’m aware, the watch is original, apart from one of the subdial hands (and bracelet), but would be happy to hear of any other opinions or insight, as I’m not an expert in these. Best
This is some first post! Simon Freese is a popular choice for folks. Crown should be a flat foot iirc. The base 1000 bezel is very special!!
Very very nice. I especially like the Base 1000 bezel. These types (not a DON) are often faded out. Not yours.
I agree this ones considerably more. Just seems like a bunch of big boys have come out of hiding recently. This is the 2nd or 3rd 2998 a 2915 and we had an Ultraman show up. My first year here the only thing that showed up was a solid gold flightmaster.
Simon Freese is fantastic. He's been moving office these past couple of weeks but is slowly getting back to it. Do drop both the office@ and kelly@ addresses a line.
Someone enjoyed that watch for many years, but still in lovely vintage condition, especially the dial, congrats on a great find! Need a new luxury car?
