Please May I have your thoughts on this 2998-1 ? http://www.ebay.fr/itm/Omega-Speedm...es_Watches_MensWatches_GL&hash=item233993edfaPurchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network Why the crown not with the flat base logo ? The hour hand is more commonly seen with a straight line of tritium. What is the real original hour hand, triangle or straight line ? Lastly, does it worth 22.5k£ or 27.3k€ ? In my opinion not but happy to read yours. Thks.
Well, I can tell you this much right off the bat. I am very familiar with this dealers Breitling source and his current Navitimers are marked up 3-3.5k US each. Nice little profit. Wayne
Thks all for your comments. Price is definitely too high. Regarding the crown, do you know when this one disappear to the flat base logo ? I thought that all crown from this period were with flat base logo. Illustration below between the 2. If someone has a bit of explanation, will be curious to know. Thks.
Crowns is a complex topic... We know for sure that the one in the second picture is Ok for 321 calibres. There are several types of 32-teeth crowns (various logo sizes), but there is no evidence that it was originally fitted. Same for Mercedes crown.... Omega has no infirmation about that.
Although I would say it is, I cannot be so sure. What makes you state it is DEFINITELY? People at Omega do not know, there's nothing we could find in the archives, there are at least 2 thickness variations
It's a NOS 2998-1 or likely -1 since the watch has never been opened.. And it has the mercedes crown.
