check the bid history, including a canceled bid- this was probably a USA bidder, who they of course won't work with.

Well, if you are going to spend 7K of your hard earned money just like that then I say buyer should have known better strike 1, then to top it off if the buyer thinks he is the only collector out there in the world looking at this watch and he just got the deal of a lifetime for a watch that can easily sell for 3, 4 or 5 times the price he paid then that's another strike against him, but of course Ebay should not allow this thing to keep popping up all the time, it just bad anyway you look at it.

It'll be a bitter pill to swallow, for that buyer. The more you venture into collecting Speedys, the more you realize the value of a forum such as this.
