Interesting and expensive! I can't get the zoom function to work on those photos and can't really inspect the watch.
Hi all, would be interested to have your thoughts on this 2915-3 http://www.ebay.fr/itm/1958-Very-Ra...683390516?pt=Wristwatches&hash=item5d4a975634Purchases made through these links may earn this site a commission from the eBay Partner Network According to the link below, the hands do not seem to be original. http://omegaforums.net/threads/help-with-speedmaster-2915-hands-please.10306/ Also never seen such a crown with no Omega logo. Thks.
"lowballing" depends on how out of step the asking price is with the rest of the market. Often it's just a phrase sellers use to justify being rude. But that doesn't mean that people aren't making insultingly low bids compared to a fair market value.
I just bought a watch for 50% of the asking price, guess it was not low ball. Some dealers double the price of what they expect to get. Some others reject bids of 95% and you wonder why the hell the "listed it with make an offer". It does not require all kinds, but we're stuck with them none the less.
I´ve experienced quite a few real low ballers throughout the years, and they seems to have in common, that they are pretty easily offended. Not at all thinking twice about that they are offending those, that they are directing their low balls offers to. A real low baller take himself highly serious, and demands to be treated as a such. He´s often a experienced collector/ dealer, and he takes for granted that you as a seller shall agree to do a deal on his terms, i.e negotiate starting from the low level that he has established with his first bid. When you tell them to f**k off, and stop wasting your time, they are always strongly offended and furious, and they will often put quite an effort into telling you what kind of low life creature you really are. A bit way off the original question, but I just felt that I wanted to describe this low balling phenomenon from a sellers perspective. Offering USD 750 to someone who is asking USD 1000 for an item, cannot hardly be viewed as a lowball bid. I wouldn´t regard it as a such. On the other side, I would hardly accept it either. That is, a fair market value for my item is USD 1000 and not USD 750. So it´s all about circumstances. An high ball asking is as unlikely to reach a closure, as a low ball bid is.
What would you expect for that price ? Kidding of course... hands are correct. Now, i'm sure the crown could seriously influence the price.
Thks for your opinion Rolexfantastic. but looking again at the hands of the watch I am very doubtfull. Especially at the minutes hands, the top of the tritium is very sharp when it's rounded on the original.
Nice catch Olivier!. At $32k most of us are just looking from a distance But I think you're right about the hands.
I did not buy it, just curious to have your opinions. To me much too expensive. The bezel is nice but does not worth 23k€ !!
