Same seller has this watch for sale too. Also lists brand as AP. Honest mistake I guess.

Yeah, ebay has some weird ways of prefilling that information. First they don’t have pre-set info for ever watch. So if you type in Omega Speedmaster most of the options will be modern or reduced.

Secondly, if you click the link sell one like this for a watch that’s the same reference as yours it will auto fill the watch details from that listing. Thus if the watch description is incorrect with that watch you just inherited the same bad info.

And the nail in the coffin, if you have a bid on the item you can’t change the item details... which makes sense, but also could create some weird results like a Speedmaster being sold as an AP. (Not my watch though, just my thoughts)

Seems to be basically original and looks fine IMO. Well, the subdial hands centres have been repainted and I'm not sure that it's not a relume. There's a service pusher, obviously.

    But who cares?

I think that ebay is the wrong platform to sell a watch like this one.

Well dial seems right with that lovely oval O. Movement seems correct. Sub hands repainted and dial may well be relumed and would like to see geiger and black lite. I think both pushers wrong and case quite polished.

If not a relume, this one certainly has some real value, enough to invest in a 10k bezel at the right price imo.
I do not believe I know this dealer?

$10k may get a decent black base 1000 bezel but the 2915-2 needs a steel variety. Has anyone ever actually sourced a vintage steel base 1000 bezel that was 100% authentic?

Well, how high will it go?

There are some weak points and the case has been polished. But when it comes to 2915 references, that's usually not a no-go or of any serious interest at all.

I think that this watch sale might end up around $100k in the end. And it might have been higher if sold at an auction house.

I sadly don't have the funds to bid on this watch. But if I had, I would go for it. One of the best examples I've seen recently. :)

Let's wait and see. Ebay is a bad platform for selling watches like these, but I think there are some Non-Blind buyers out there and this watch is very nice after all. :)

What are the chances that this auction will even run to completion?
    Slim to none.

eBay does not seem to be the right place for the quantum that we are talking about, in terms of the potential final price.

What are the chances it goes to someone on OF? :whistling:
