Time Exposure
·My next offering is a vintage 1968 Longines in a stainless steel screwback case. The condition is near mint, easily the finest condition watch in my collection.
Original dial is mint. Crystal is clear. 35mm case has very few, very faint scratches that do not detract from the finish. Difficult to see in the photos, it appears to have a factory finish: bezel is polished, lug face/top is brushed, then sides (including lugs) are polished. The only flaw on the entire watch can be seen in the last photo. It appears a light engraving may have been polished out of the small area in the center. Effective but not neat, any watch maker should be able to "clean it up." Signed Longines crown.
I think I was the first to see the movement since it left the factory, which translates two ways: 1) unmolested and no scratches, even on the screw heads!, and 2) it will benefit from what will likely be its first service. Testament to the quality of Longines, it keeps fantastic time in its current state. The manual wind movement is a caliber 284.
Unmolested original examples of high-quality watches are seldom seen. I think this qualifies, but you be the judge.
$320 includes USPS Priority shipping to a CONUS address only. PayPal preferred, and there are no fees. I am not interested in any trades. It comes with a used, padded genuine Italian-made crocodile strap, which still has miles left. Bonus: a period INcorrect Longines buckle is included. Not original to this watch, but at least it's a real Longines buckle and the logo matches the dial. Email if you have any questions: metersfirst AT gmail DOT com. I am Time Exposure here, TRF, TZ, and WUS.
