27 years, it seems like yesterday (is what I tell my wife).

So, today is our 27th wedding anniversary! She still puts up with me after all these years.

Our biggest weaknesses are I like tech and watches, and she likes to travel - I’m careful not to say no to going on the trips she plans, because even if the money could buy something that will last for years, so do memories (and she’ll also fight me less on what I find important).

For our 25th we took a 10 day vacation to Seattle and a long Alaskan cruise. This year we’re doing a 10 day vacation to Universal Orlando including a 5 day Caribbean cruise. She likes to travel for special occasions, within a few weeks of the actual date.

We do boring gifts now - technically the bracelet on my Tudor Pepsi GMT was my anniversary gift, and her’s was a brand new 256gb iPhone 8 upgrade (she hates the bigger ones without a home button). They tend to be things we would have bought for ourselves but needed an excuse.

And the watch in question to keep this on topic...

Hey Larry, who is that young strapping dude with your wife!?!

Congrats man, I feel ya’ on the time flying...and valuing her hobbies as much, if not more than your own.
My old boss, who I loved dearly, was a work-a-holic. He loved his job and is required lots of travel. He would bring his wife along on some of the paid work travel (covering her air fare and let he explore while he worked or having her assist him). They went to exotic places, Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Eastern Europe (during the Cold War)..but always for his interests. She died in 2004 and he was devistated. He said to me at the funeral “ she always wanted to go to Ireland...why didn’t I take her to Ireland”....I will never forget that.

Finding a partner you can share life and all of its ups and downs with is truly priceless.

Happy anniversary!

Happy anniversary that is great. I learned in marriage you can either be right, or you can be happy, you can’t be both.

I was 30 then, and 57 now. So, young strapping dude is gone. Life has taken a toll on this body of mine.

I could take my wife everywhere and there would always be somewhere we missed. It's just that we're missing a whole lot more places right now than she'd like.

Hey happy anniversary Larry!

27 years is time enough to see your marriage evolve and it sounds like you two have adjusted well moving through the different stages of your relationship. Here is to many more years to come!

Best of all you get to wear your watches as you both travel 😀

Congrats on 27 Larry, that’s an impressive accomplishment and I wish you many more!

My wife and I are also celebrating our 1st anniversary this month. Currently sitting on the beach in Bali and will be in Singapore and Thailand over the next 3 weeks.

Luckily I can take OmegaForums anywhere in the world!

Beard game be strong

I haven't shaved my beard off since 1986, just a little trim here and there.
