Recent purchase ,my first vintage .This was supposed to have been serviced in the last three years.According to watchmaker its not been touched for a decade. That’s now been remied, cleaned and serviced ,the original crown was damaged internally so was replaced along with winding stem and case gasket.Fitted a JPM strap ,runs a treat now.

Welcome to OF. I think that ref 2639 is a perennial favorite on the forum. Great looking case, nice size, and classic 30mm movement. Too bad about the crown, but if you decide that you prefer to have one that looks more period-correct, I'm sure you'll be able to find one.

Here is my 2639, which has actually been appropriated by Mrs. S, who loves it. Almost the same dial in black, but with additional lume plots at 3-6-9-12.

I don’t mind the crown, being slightly larger than the original makes winding easier for this old chap.

Amazing coincidence I only 5 minutes ago pulled a 2639 out of the 'project' drawer to take a look at for the first time in ten years!

P.S. I need a good dial for mine if anyone's got a spare 😉
