Here's another watch I'm interested in purchasing.

Serial starts with 122 - the watch dates back to 1950-1952

    Caliber is 265

    Seller stated:
"After examinig the dial more closely i can confirm that the dial is completely unrestored. The sub second area still has the sunburst effect. The hands even have the old lume which faded to brown."

I started researching the ref no and the Omega database says it should be a 266, not a 265, but I've been told the database isn't always correct.

The database also states the hands should be dauphine hands.

In inquired with the seller who stated:

"There are some other 2605ref 265 cal out there:

or the same watch without black dial: (same hands, same dial, same ref, same cal)

Curious as the the experts' opinions.

I concur, that dial is 100% completely and utterly unrestored.

I never noticed that guy in Austria. Seems to be a real wizard with dials (mostly announced as "ungeschrieben", a word belonging to a strange dialect...it cannot mean "untouched" - in my opinion), polishing and rust-cultivating.
