So about 13 years ago my father bought this Omega at a Garage Sale for 25 cents and a few other Seiko's and a Timex for the same price...
Apparently the Omega is worth about $1,500 Canadian. Anyone know where I could find a new strap and maybe a Crystal for it as well?
    Thanks!

Don't what exactly a Canadian $ amounts to nowadays, but 1500 sounds a little optimistic. Good buy nonetheless.

A brown lizard strap would match nicely.

As said, it won't be worth that, especially with such an engraving on the rear. However, it's a lovely watch and straps can be found easily from brands such as Hirsch. It may be possible to purchase a genuine Omega strap but only your local Omega boutique could confirm this.

The crystal can be replaced by a local watchmaker, but if it only has scratches, you can quite often bring plexi back to new with a polishing compound such as Polywatch.

That's a nice little watch. Get it serviced, maintaining as much of the original look and feel as you can.. don't change the hands or dial, don't Polish the case, etc.

That will be a great watch to wear. And nice roi, even if it's not quite $1500...

Well I did some research and I am pretty sure it's a 1970 Geneve 166.070. The reason I asked about the crystal is because it has a little crack at the bottom.

Looks exactly like this one. I've researched other years and they look different. I think this is the one.

$1.00 Cdn. Buys $71.57 U S! So $1,500.00 Cdn. = ~ $1,060.00 U S. Even that is a trifle optimistic, even though it looks like a decent watch. These require a genuine Omega crystal with the proper reflector ring. Boots is a drug chain in Great Britain. Decent prize for 20-years service! I suggest you decline any offers of double what your father paid! I'm in for $2.00, U S! (Kidding)!

Haha ok Canuck! I'm from Vancouver too btw. I am not trying to sell the watch I was just wondering what they are worth. I found one for $1,920 Canadian but obvioulsy this one is in better shape and has the box and everything. I just want to get him an original strap and crystal to make it look nice again. Try these people.

Make sure you identify the model number (inside the caseback) before you commit.
You need an Omega plexi crystal with a yellow (gold) tension ring.

The exchange rate is garbage right now. $2,100 US is almost $3,000 CAD, at the bank it is even more....

To get a realisitc idea of what something like this is worth, you need to look at actual sales prices and not what the asking price is. Your best bet would be to search completed auctions and eBAY and then adjust for condition etc.,

If you're in Canada - contact Al at Archer Watches (he's in St Thomas, Ont. and does phenomenal work). He can still get parts from the SWATCH group and service the watch while he's at it.
