路Tend to agree with you. It's possible! Everything is possible back then and we'll never know.
Still, I'd rather speculate on this watch returned to the shop somewhen later the year for whatever reason 馃榾

I have confused with Premoon and the moon landing date in my head. It's correct what you wrote, this serial is from the first quarter 1970, I have a -69 with a very close serial that is from March 1970 馃槈
Totally agree. The 220 bezels were used only for a few month between serial 3059 (end of 1970) and 31004xx (beginning of 1971). It is (at least for me) the rarest of the three main bezel types (DON, DNN, 220). Many of them were changed from Omega because of the 220 error. I would value it minimal like a DON variation of not higher.
Just to be sure. Does this mean that watches sold within this period could have been sold with either a 220 or DNN? Not all were sold with 220?
This is absolutely the right answer... for now ... until the Rolex type of collector gets into Omega. See what a little bit of red ink can do for the price of a sub and we will see the same thing happening to Speedies in the future. I have no doubt about that. When is the only question.
So this means that 220 are spread out within this serial range amongst some DNN? With the 220 being the first but not in serial order.
This is why I opted to snag a 220 for my 30593xxx Sept 70 Speedy. It was available and I got it for a reasonable price so I thought why not?? At the very least it makes my watch a bit more interesting from a collectible standpoint and being a Rolex collector I鈥檓 hoping that the Omega crowd starts catching on to it as a cool variant.
