So Omega quote it as 13.65mm thick according to their site: https://www.omegawatches.com/en-au/...axial-master-chronometer-42-mm-21730422101001

Fratello are saying a 13.79mm thickness, close but a little more. I wonder if their figure is measured with callipers on the actual watch.

Definitely a decent improvement but i wonder if they could have gone even more with a Cal 8806 movement rather than the thicker Cal 8912
Think Adrian Barker's review quotes a different thickness too - have to go back and watch.

I think it looks great. Love the look, the bracelet, the strap, the helium escape valve.

Maybe the bezel should be lumed for that price point?

I’m confused why Omega didn’t use O-Megasteel for this release. After hyping it up as a superior material when releasing the Ultra Deep, they chose not to use it here?

Production cost?

The more pictures of this I see, the more that it grows on me. It's an absolute shot at Rolex. It probably has a true bezel diameter of what, right under 40 mm because of the integrated lugs? Seems to be The Sweet Spot most people want in terms of diameter. The thickness is exactly what people are asking for given the 600m water resistance. It's incredibly distinct, probably the most distinct omega in the current catalog.

The black with blue bezel is the most beautiful to me. I like that the numerals don't bling.

🤷‍♂️ Would've helped to justify the ~30% price jump.

I don't think Omega needs to anymore, but I guess we'll see how competitive they manage to be

Apparently my OB has them already, I just got an email "look what just arrived". Not my thing, one Diver 300 is enough Seamaster for me, I'm a Speedy guy.

Might be good to people who want a new "fashion" watch. In that case they might even love it.
In my humble opinion, it lost DNA of Planet Ocean series. Each iteration was a down grade in design, unfortunately.
However, the PO was recognisable till... but now it's a mix maybe Tag, maybe Seiko...?
Sure, then will come back in 25 years with Helium valve and date, because people would miss that. 😂 Be smart, think ahead.
Polished links + bracelet clasp on a tool watch? and cheap engraving on a case back definitely a minus.

Whoever gets their paws on one of these first, I sincerely hope they can do us all a favour and find a calibrated Mitutoyo caliper and measure that thing, making sure to get the centre of the crystal and whole caseback in it.

I'm a little confused by the pricing.
The orange one with bracelet is more expensive than the blue and the black ones by €200; it is probably justified by the numerals on the bezel, which are in "Liquid Ceramic" on the orange version instead of Enamel (it's the only difference I can spot in the description of the watches on the official web site).
But the strap versions with orange bezel are €300 more expensive than the strap version of the blue and the black bezel (+ 100).
I don't know why.

Went in to try it on today, walked out with one. Only complaint from me is the stupid clasp… otherwise this is the best one two combo with the white speedy in my opinion

Ok that looks pretty sweet with the blue bezel, what was the thing that put you off the clasp, the length of it or the adjust system?

No matter how beautiful they make the clasp, they still haven't solved the issue with the extension: it looks horrible !

Even some Chinese AliX brands have managed on-the-fly extensions that look good !

You might as well add a link if you’re going to extend that much

I agree, I understand the complaints about the extension clasp but at the same time, they are overstated. If you're using a full extension over a wetsuit, nobody is going to see it. And if you are using a full extension in any other case, you need to just add a link.
