2025 Seamaster planet Ocean Poor Manufacturing

I recently tried on the new 2025 planet ocean.

So disappointed by the manufacturing!

Has anyone noticed the indices at 30 does not line through with the luminous square marker on the dial?

I wrote to Omega to question this and was told this misalignment is an acceptable manufacturing tolerance.

Seriously disappointed as it’s such an obvious issue and at such a price point.

Is this an acceptable or should this be corrected.

Photo attached, let me know your thoughts.

What a fantastic first post and clearly a valid criticism. I might not have taken you seriously if you'd only posted one screenshot of one picture, but you really went above and beyond by demonstrating with over 27 different images of different watches, that it is indeed a real production issue and not a result of angled or otherwise misleading photography.

What is the price point at which manufacturing tolerances cannot be visible?

Does it apply to things like BMWs and houses as well, or just to watches?

The margin is maybe 1-2px in a gigantic render. This image is zoomed to 1000%. And it's debatable there even is a margin, the photo is not perfectly straight and the right side is in shadow.

Go home, friend, you're drunk.

Well I will say this for the crown, they definitely do a better job of making their renders pixel perfect than Omega. 😜

OP, perhaps you'd prefer spending twice the price (because they won't sell you one at retail) on a Rolex. Some of the extra money surely goes to their web design team.

I think maybe the OP means the bezel “30” is off center with the 6 o’clock index?

Not sure it’s worth mentioning that the bezel moves?

OPs Image taken from here:

https://www.beaverbrooks.co.uk/0152...t-Ocean-600M-CoAxial-Chromometer-Mens-Watch/p

The watch appears to be slightly tipped and very slightly not straight, none of the indices actually line up properly and the lugs appear to be moving away from us slightly. I believe that the website took some of Omega's official advertising stills/images for these.

Original, unclipped image:

Vs Omega's actual sale images from their website:

This is Much Ado About absolutely nothing, just an internet troll doing Internet troll things.

Yeah, you're exactly right. The bezel is 1 click off center. Odd decision for the Omega website...

I thought that too at first, but look at the 15 minute bezel hash. It's also above the 3:00 marker, the same amount as the 45 bezel hash is above 9:00 position. If you look at the 12:00 lugs, they look smaller than the 6:00 lugs. Combined with what's going on with the bezel, this watch is very slightly tipped away from us at the 12 o'clock / top side ( you can see it in the rubber strap as well).

Oh right I didn't even look at the bezel. To be fair, OP said "the indices at 30 does not line through with the luminous square marker on the dial" which I still feel can only be interpreted as referring to the indices on the dial.

Agreed the bezel is one click off centre. I do actually think Omega should be doing a better job with their marketing images. I was semi joking with my Rolex comment but their marketing images are so pixel perfect they look like 3D renders and not real watches. Obviously all brands heavily doctor their marketing shots though.

While we're bitching about Omega's website, a couple of years ago they underwent some kind of database update and screwed up a lot of the old reference images. For example, the 2541.80, notice how it's quite misshapen e.g. look at the artifacting around the dial lettering:

I happen to have a copy of that image pre-update, although I had colour corrected it a little so ignore that:

Most of the old images have had this done to them unfortunately.

Looking again, I'm once again convinced my brain is lying to me every time I look at those other indices. Last time I was sure the other 3 (12, 3, 9) all looked right for 1 click off, now I don't see it. So shrug Much ado about nothing.

Our brains are weird like that, we are incredibly good at filling in images the way that we expect to see them.

Squares A and B are the same colour. This one still blows my mind.

How dare you criticize the most holy Omega! Turn towards Bienne and beg for forgiveness, chanting "Speedmaster, Speedmaster" while using a bracelet as a rosary.😉

Maybe a pair of glasses from Santa would help 😜
