Hi all, unfortunately I cracked the crystal of my speedmaster professional the other day and need to replace the crystal. I talked to my local boutique and they said I would need to send it back to omega, but omega would require a full service on top of it. This struck me as odd, as I’ve read they should be able to order the crystal (I’ve ordered omega parts through them before) but they said they can’t. So I’m thinking of just obtaining an OEM crystal and getting a shop to swap them. Problem seems to be obtaining one. I found the Otto frei site, and it seems like they sell the 063PW5139 part that fits the 3570.50. Before I order could anyone validate that that’s indeed the correct part? Thanks!
There are a lot of watches with the name Speedmaster, and some use the crystal you have indicated, and some don't. Without knowing the specific model you have, can't say for certain if that's the right one.
My Omega boutique swapped a crystal for me at no charge. I definitely wouldn't send it for a full service. I recommend asking to speak to the watchmaker and not the staff.
I guess all OBs are different -- mine has no watchmaker. They can handle a strap change but that's about it. Even movement related questions need to be relayed to the Omega Service Center. I'd love to be near one with a watchmaker on board!
