2016 gone... What ONE watch might you hope to acquire for 2017?

    Actually, I like a lot of watches that are larger than the average TGDW. ;) There are plenty of cool Heuers. If there were Fan Boys with Paul Newman in racing garb avatar pictures littering the place, I'd be busting their chops instead. Now, you could argue that there are Zenith Fan Boys with Nina Rindt or other Zenith related avatar pictures (because no Zenith watch collector in their right mind would have a Therry Nataf picture) but I'd counter that those guys are pretty much sane.

    Oh, and I'd contact Bruce and buy my VC back with a hefty fee to him on top for minding it for me. :p

    Think big. I like it!

    That watch has everything on it... I could stare at that one all day...

    ...might be a dangerous watch to wear; I think I'd be worse than a teen with her first smartphone...:eek:

    If I could just find my 'lost' Ballloon Moon-phase, the void would be filled... at least for awhile, anyway.

    Enjoying my couple of SS Omegas and not a gold man, but I have been looking at this one for a few years now, hoping a nice one will come up this year!

    It's unbelievably hard for me to pick one and only one watch to hopefully acquire in 2017, but this would probably be it. AP Royal Oak 5402 B-Series with AP at 6 o'clock. Unfortunately, the prices are rising faster than I'd hoped and AP doesn't exactly "blend in" like a Heuer or Universal Geneve would to a non-collector. A barn find is essentially impossible with an A-C series Royal Oak, so that means getting stuck going through dealers or other well-informed collectors. I guess we'll see what the future holds.

    I'm aiming for a UG Polerouter. Picking this one because I have a "reason" to buy it. Ok I don't have a reason but I'm making my cousins wedding in June the reason. I'd prefer stainless steel with a black dial but since the wedding is my reason I need to find out what we will be wearing. I'm assuming black tuxedos so it should work out. [​IMG]
