Announcing the 2015 mini get together in the land of abbreviations, i.e. Singapore! Date of the GTG is 15th Aug 2015, lunch time (12.30 pm - 2 pm or whenever we get kicked out of the restaurant). Venue TBC. At present, @Gavin , @NT931, @ELV web and myself are confirmed in attendance - we hope a few more other OFers in Singapore and around the region can join us, up to about 10 in total to keep it managable and informal. Interested? Drop me a private message to book a slot and introduce yourself!
Would love to join the SG club for the first time but I'll be in NZ for work that weekend! Happy to meet you guys and bring my small stash out for the next one though, whenever that is!
Pity, would have love to see your recent Heuer and Enicar acquistions! Fingers crossed your work trip's cancelled!
Hahaha, alas that's unlikely, but I'll try to make the next one! By then I should have one more major drop to share - planning my last big pickup before a self-imposed hiatus from buying.
@khmt2 I've got three watches in the spa and a girlfriend probably in tow, but if you guys don't mind... Sure!!!
6 + 1 gf attended today's GTG, together with a hellalot of watches! I had a great time meeting both the watches and wearers in the flesh for the first time! Our preferences varied widely across brands, complications, tool vs dress, etc; but all had a good time! Some session pics! UGargasm Zenith (@ELV web need u to post our twins!) Gold dials Din manage to get any pics of the speedies, heuers and flight masters on the other side of the table, @lwong pls share your pics! Thanks @ELV web, @Gavin, @NT931, @lwong for the great catchup. Till the next time!
Oh yes, forgot to add that my favourite new to me watches were these 4! And they all belong to @Gavin ...
It was great fun meeting everyone as well! Lovely riverside location, and the large wooden table made the perfect backdrop for discussion and photographs. The UGs were awesome. As was the amazing array of vintage chronographs - the flightmasters, Heuers, Zeniths, Breitlings... the list goes on! And also, the wide range of vintage Longines too. Some of the beauties which I managed to snap. And finally, a group shot. Great meeting everyone - @Gavin , @lwong , @khmt2 , @ELV web & D Goh, and seeing all your lovely watches. And a big thank you to M for organizing this GTG.
@NT931 - thanks for the great venue suggestion! Here's a pic to inspire you in your hunt for a nice Longines! And Dibs if you ever are crazy enuf to let go your VC!
I was quite pleased the venue worked out well - lots of natural light, and that lovely wooden table. Must hold future GTGs here Really liked that RG/black dial Longines! What's the ref again? And yeah, dibs on the VC duly noted Thanks also for the tip about geo-ship, I'm now finding load of vintage watches which were previously 'invisible' to me on ebay.
