These watches have the same movement - 30.10 and the same case ref. - 2374 in stainless steel. Dials and hands are different as you can see. Keep in mind these watches are about 65 years old and difficult to find in this condition. Case ref. 2374 is the earliest automatic movement case ref. used by omega (there were earlier cases used but these were prototypes and not commercialized).
Mike - so what date are we talking about for these two - 1943? Lovely examples, of course, but then we expect that from you. And does the 30.10 pre-date the 28.10, or are they more or less contemporaneous?
Contemporaneous for the most part but 30.10 was made a few months before 28.10. Serials for these are in the 9,8xx,xxx range so yes I would say around 1943 so I guess that would make these watches closer to 70 years old.
Amazing. It's very hard to find contemporaneous Rolex bubblebacks which haven't been redialed or aren't in pretty sorry shape.
That first watch is amazing. I'm definitely not worthy, but I'd go on the DIBS list for that. How large is it? Chris
Lovely watches, I really like the first one too. Such a nice, clean and simple dial with those very attractive Arabic numerals.
