I have my eye on these two, but I have heard that UK dealers can be rather sketchy and haven't found any other black dials for these cases. The movements seem right...

    Thoughts?

I cannot comment on what is legit or not, but I like the geneve, and I was born in 1970 too!

Do the last three digits of the case number indicate dial color/configuration?

No. Same caseback might have dozens of dial combinations.

Funny about these black dialled watches. It seems they are "Tropical" until you go to sell them. Then the dials become "dirty" or "UV damaged". Then once you've sold them, they become "Tropical" again. Pretty amazing transformation, don't you think?

I'd be careful about paying a premium for these,

"premium"? No. But I do like the looks of the Geneve. If it doesnt go too high, I might snag it.

Question is always, will it get worse from there over time.
